Notice/Reminds Me Of/Wonder

“Notice / Reminds Me Of / Wonder” is a classroom routine that can be used across many subjects and with any age of students.  This routine can be done in five to ten minutes but will take longer the first few times as your students learn the routine.

The first few times you engage in this routine, consider taking a few moments to discuss the routine.  To prepare your students for this routine:

1. Ask students what they think of when they hear the word “notice.”

2. Ask students what they think “reminds me of” means.

3. Ask students what they think of when they hear the word “wonder.”

4. Consider how you will record students’ ideas.
