Use these 3D models to print your own scaled seamounts from the American Samoa Archipelago. Make your own models of Malulu Seamount, Muli Seamount, the active underwater volcano Vailulu'u Seamount, the slope west of Ofu seamount, and the ridge east of Tutuila Island, home of the territorial capital.

A seamount is defined as an underwater mountain that rises at least 1,000 meters above the surrounding seafloor. It’s estimated that there are over 100,000 of these submerged mountains globally.

These models can also be integrated with the Seamount Mapping Simulation lesson for an inquiry-based exploration of multibeam mapping technology!
