Expedition NA175 Through One Film Pic a Day
This photo album was created by NA175 Science Communication Fellow Erin Winick Anthony.
Being the science communication fellow for a Nautilus expedition means taking a lot of pictures on your cell phone. But I wanted to find another slightly different method of documenting NA175 in a more physical form. So I brought my camera and enough film to take around 60 photos through numerous TSA hand inspections on the way to the start of our expedition in Majuro, Marshall Islands.
And here is the result! I attempted to take at least one picture a day, documenting our journey from Majuro to mapping off of the Howland and Baker Islands, and all the way to our final port in American Samoa.

Seafloor Mapping Offshore Howland & Baker Islands
During this expedition, E/V Nautilus explores the waters offshore Howland & Baker Islands. Located roughly midway between Hawaiʻi and New Zealand in the Central Pacific Ocean, the islands of Howland and Baker are some of the most isolated land masses on Earth.
