ROV Hercules Upgrade: New Orion Manipulator Arm

In 2024, OET’s remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Hercules is showing off an upgrade in the form of a new manipulator arm. The Schilling Orion arm replaces the ISE Magnum manipulator to provide strong and precise grabbing movements for Hercules. During the NA161 #ONCabyss expedition, our ROV pilots were able to test out the new Orion arm, successfully using it for maintenance and exploration around the NEPTUNE underwater observatory.
