Turanli has been working on nautical archaeological expeditions since 1975. he has participated in all the major excavation in Turkey since that date, especially on Uluburun Bronze Age wreck - worlds oldest shipwreck ever excavated - for 11 years. Turanli, with wife, archaeologist Berta Llledo, has been excavation Ottoman Frigate, Ertugrul, in Japan, since 2004.
