Daniel Whitesell

Dan received his B.S. in marine science from Stony Brook University in New York in 2009. He is currently pursuing a PhD in geological oceanography and an MA in archaeology at the University of Rhode Island, Graduate School of Oceanography. His interests include marine geophysics, mapping, geophysical surveying and underwater archaeology.

This is Dan’s first cruise aboard E/V Nautilus working with IFE. He will be on board for six weeks during the Black Sea, Aegean and Uluburun legs of the cruise, collecting and processing side scan sonar data as well as mapping ROV track lines.
