Alex Kavanaugh

Alex Kavanaugh is an Argus pilot aboard Nautilus this summer.  In the off-season, Alex works as a technician with the Ocean Exploration Trust, maintaining and upgrading ROVs Argus and Hercules.  Alex is also currently an engineering technician with the Mission Systems & Training division of Lockheed Martin in Middletown, RI.  He previously worked in the Applied Ocean Physics & Engineering department at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Alex Kavanaugh is a graduate student in Ocean Engineering at the University of Rhode Island, having graduated URI with a Bachelor's in Ocean Engineering in May of 2012. Alex's graduate work focuses on remotely-operated vehicle systems and operations; his interest in ROV work began with a MATE internship as an ROV pilot aboard Nautilus in the summer of 2011.
