Bosporus Transit

After a day of taking on fuel, water, and provisions in Istanbul, the ship's crew and the Corps of Explorers were eager to sail through the Bosporus and into the Black Sea. The Bosporus is a narrow strait that connects two major seas and divides two continents. Despite its geographic importance, it is not large. The transit to the Black Sea took less than two hours.
