Nautilus Field Guide: Bubblegum Coral

Some of our favorite deep-sea corals belong to the genus Paragorgia. You might know them as bubblegum corals- named for their bulbous, bright pink branch tips that resemble our favorite childhood candy. Paragorgia are not only beautiful to look at; they provide critical habitat in the deep sea by hosting a wide range of associates.
