Stelios Nicolaides is a geologist with special interest in hydrocarbon and mineral exploration. He is currently with the Cyprus Geological Survey, working on various mineral exploration projects in the Troodos Ophiolite Complex. He also worked as a geologist with the Department of Energy, dealing with all aspects of hydrocarbon exploration. Prior to becoming a government employee, he was working in the mining industry as an exploration and mine geologist.
Stelios holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the National University of Athens (Greece), a Master of Science in Petroleum Geology and Geophysics from the University of Adelaide (Australia) and a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences from the University of Melbourne (Australia). He has published and co-authored a number of articles on carbonate diagenesis and presented his work in a number of conferences worldwide.
