Shannon is an external Program Evaluator with David Heil & Associates, Inc. (DHA) located in Portland, Oregon. She specializes in the design and implementation of evaluation and market research projects related to DHA’s core areas of emphasis in science, engineering, health, and environmental education. As the Ocean Exploration Trust’s contracted Education Program Evaluator, Shannon conducts research to support and inform the continued development of the Educators at Sea and Honors Research Programs. Her work additionally examines the impact of the program on participants and public audiences.
Shannon graduated from the University of Evansville in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and minors in Archaeology and Business Administration. In 2010, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies at the University of Washington, where she was as a member of the first cohort of the University of Washington's New Directions in Audience Research Program. Shannon has conducted research for a range of academic institutions, government agencies, corporations and non-profit enterprises including the National Science Teachers Association and the National Science Foundation.
