I have been a laboratory assistant at WHOI for several years and have helped out on projects including oyster aquaculture research and lower oceanic crust microbiology

What sparked your initial interest in your career?

My high school's science fair introduced me to the idea of research which I was immediately drawn to and my interest has only grown with my work as a lab assistant and courses in college

Who influenced you or encouraged you the most?

My mentors at WHOI and at college have both taught me so much

What element of your work/study do you think is the most fascinating?

I find it really cool how even in unexpected environments microscopic life is still found

What other jobs led you to your current career?

While most of my work has been as a lab assistant at WHOI, I have also spent one summer bleeding horseshoe crabs at Associates of Cape Cod, and was very briefly a high school substitute teacher while home on break from college

What are your degrees and certifications?

Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Environmental Studies (hopefully!) 2022
