CB is a 16 year old Eagle Scout from Augusta, Georgia and a sophomore at Augusta Preparatory Day School in Martinez, Georgia. CB was selected to represent the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) on this Expedition due to his proven interest in science and his love for exploration. CB credits his interest in marine biology as beginning when he visited the Galapagos Islands about 7 years ago. Since then CB's thirst for exploration has taken him to 6 continents where he has completed runs of the Great Rift Valley and parts of the Great Wall of China as well as the thousands of steps at the Potala Palace in Tibet. CB has represented the Boyscouts of America internationally in Sweden, South America, and Africa. CB is planning an expedition to Antarctica before he graduates high school.
CB is an active member of Boyscout Troop 7 and Venture Crew 2850 in the Georgia-Carolina Council. He is an active member of his school's Varsity track team and enjoys a variety of other club and extracurricular activities. One of his favorite hobbies is building computers and experimenting with new technology. He intends to pursue a career in STEM science and hopes to attend either Westpoint or the Citadel after graduating high school.
