Marsha Vargas is a Assistant Fisheries Officer at the Belize Fisheries Department assigned to the Capture Fisheries Unit. Marsha has been involved in monitoring and surveying the conch abundance in Belize to assist in analyzing data to establish the country's quota. Marsha has been involved in several monitoring and data collecting activities concerning the Belizean Fishery including; Spiny Lobster, Shark tagging, SPAGs. Marsha has also been part of socio-economic surveys and PR related events representing the Belize Fisheries Department.

Marsha Vargas gradated from the University of Belize in 2002 with a Associate degree in Natural Resource Management. Incomplete Ba. degree in Biology. 

"I have always been interested in the sea/ocean, the different kinds of creatures that are there and just the beauty of the water. I hope working aboard the Nautilus I would be lucky to see a rare or undiscovered flora or fauna, being on board such a large vessel would also be a first for me and I am anticipating the knowledge and experience that I will be obtaining."
