Julie Fero Martin

Julie Fero Martin received a Ph.D. in Oceanography from the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island under the direction of adviser Steven Carey in 2009. She received her B.S. in Oceanography from Humboldt State University in 2003. Julie currently holds a one-year visiting professor position with the Earth and Environmental Sciences department at Tulane University where she teaches Physical Geology. Research interests include reconstructing tephra dispersal patterns of past explosive volcanic eruptions to determine the source eruption characteristics and paleo-wind conditions.
