Elizabeth Vanderwall
Elizabeth Vanderwall is a senior at Mercer Island High School. She has volunteered through the Seattle Aquarium's High School Volunteer Program during her sophomore and junior years, dedicating over 300 hours of service to inspiring conservation of the marine environment. In the fall of her junior year, Elizabeth presented to community members, local experts, and stakeholders at the Science, Policy, and Citizenship Program on Biodiversity, a partnership between the Seattle Aquarium, the Phoenix Zoo, the Toledo Zoo, and Arizona State University’s Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes. In the presentation, Elizabeth and her peers explained the variety of issues surrounding biodiversity and the measures on local and nation levels that the community can take to prevent the loss of biodiversity.
