Derya Urkmez works as a research assistant of Sinop University, Fisheries Faculty (Black Sea, Turkey) and she is a PhD student of the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences with studies focusing on benthic ecology.
Derya graduated from Ege University Fisheries Faculty in 2000, completed her MSc in the field of marine biology and ecology. She has interest in meiobenthic organisms, and is specialized particularly on the ecology and taxonomy of free-living marine nematodes in Black Sea.
