Dr. David Valentine is a Professor of Earth Science and Biology at the University of California at Santa Barbara. His research areas include the chemistry, microbiology and exploration of the ocean. Dr. Valentine has participated on over 35 research expeditions, over half as the chief scientist, and has logged more than 20 dives on the submarine Alvin.
