Tell us about your work/research. What kinds of things do you do?
I lead a diverse team of keen, motivated individuals who run the day to day operations of the ONC observatories.
What sparked your initial interest in your career?
I have spent most of my life at sea so coming to work on ocean observatories was a good fit when I left the Navy
Who influenced you or encouraged you the most?
A series of navy CO's who mentored me and encouraged me never to stop learning
What element of your work/study do you think is the most fascinating?
Meeting the diverse engineering challenges posed by sub-sea scientific research
What other jobs led you to your current career?
26 years in the Royal Canadian Navy including sea and shore command appointments
What are your degrees and certifications?
BEng Electrical Engineering, MSc Guided Weapons Systems
What are your hobbies?
Kayaking, RC aircraft, machining
