"I grew up in Minnesota, but middle school was the time when my interest in ocean exploration was sparked. My father will tell you it started from watching a television series, "SeaQuest DSV." At the end of each episode, Dr. Ballard would talk about the science concept that inspired the episode and from there I was hooked. I am very excited to be aboard the Nautilus and I hope this will be the "spark" for my students at New River Middle School."
