Oded Ezra

Marine Geophysicist
University of Haifa

Oded Ezra is involved on developing the scientific program for the Israeli leg of E/V Nautilus, as part of his M.Sc. thesis work on submarine slides. Onboard he also serves as an Argus pilot and a navigator.

Oded’s research focuses on the Palmahim Disturbance, a massive submarine land slide offshore southern Israel. His research work combines geophysical and hydrographical surveying with ROV dives, aiming to delineate the recent activity of the slide and how the geological dynamics affects the unique biology in the area. Over the last 3 years Oded worked as a skipper and marine surveyor in various commercial mapping projects, and occasionally works in deep sea commercial surveying projects as a navigator and an ROV pilot.

Oded completed his B.Sc. degree in Marine Science in 2007 and is now an M.Sc. student at the Dr. Moses Strauss Department of Marine Geosciences, University of Haifa.
