Michael teaches chemistry, marine biology and coaches the National Ocean Sciences Bowl team at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in Acton, Massachusetts. Additionally, Michael is an adjunct lecturer at the Boston University School of Education and authors "The New Teacher's Toolbox," a monthly column for new teachers featured in the National Science Teachers' Association high school journal "The Science Teacher."

Michael Romano graduated from Boston University in 2006 with degrees in science education and biology. He completed his master's degree in education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University in 2007.
